A White House spokesman, Judd Deere, would not comment directly on Ms. Hicks’s condition. “The president takes the health and safety of himself and everyone who works in support of him and the American people very seriously,” Deere commented. "The White House operations team worked closely with the president’s doctor, among others," he added, “to ensure all plans and procedures incorporate current C.D.C. guidance and best practices for limiting Covid-19 exposure to the greatest extent possible.” Not too long following the widespread news of Hicks's condition, Pres. Trump and The First Lady abruptly announced that they too have contracted the coronavirus. "Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" Trump tweeted.
