This New Year's Eve was celebrated like no other in most of the world. As the clock struck midnight across Asia and the South Pacific, the New Year's experience mirrored their respective countries' responses to the virus itself; some countries scaled back or even outright cancelled all festivities while others, without active outbreaks, were able to carry on like any other year, ABC7 reported. But regardless of what country, everybody around the world was all probably thinking the same thing as NYC's Mayor Bill de Blasio: "Goodbye, 2020. Here comes something better: 2021."
