NYTimes - Viewership for this week's Golden Globe Awards has definitely taken a downswing in comparison to its highs of the past decade. The Globe Awards show drew an audience of 6.3 million people this week, and while that's only slightly fewer than the COVID-19 impaired ceremony of 2021, this year's attendance is incomparable to the 18 million who watched it in 2020. Reviews for this year's ceremony, which was hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, were mostly warm. Vulture called it “great live TV,” and The New Yorker praised it as “fizzy and fun.” But regardless of how people perceived the show, based on the viewership trends of this year and the last, it is currently unknown if NBC will venture to air the Globes again next year.
