While the cause of death remains unknown, Wright’s niece confirmed the news on Twitter: “Sleep in peace aunty Betty Wright. Fly high angel.” Many renowned artists including Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Kelly Rowland, just to name a few, have paid their respective tributes this past weekend over the unfortunate passing of the artist. Betty Wright will surely be missed by many.
