CBS - For those less familiar, Amazon Web Services is a cloud-service operation; AWS stores its customers' data, runs their online activities, and more, but perhaps more importantly, it also serves as a huge profit center for Amazon. Well, this was the case at least until a major outage in Amazon's cloud computing network today severely disrupted services at a wide range of U.S. companies for hours. For the time being, Amazon has still said nothing about what, exactly, went wrong. but was "working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible."
