Marjorie Taylor Greene's "Innocent" White Balloon
CBS - Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene carried a white balloon around Capitol Hill ahead of the State of the Union this week, a stunt meant to express concern about the suspected Chinese spy balloon that was spotted over the United States and shot down in the Atlantic Ocean. "It's just an innocent balloon," the Georgia Republican captioned in a video on Twitter. Then, in another video posted by conservative news network RSBN, Greene also made unsubstantiated claims about the balloon. "President Biden isn't afraid of balloons, he allowed China to traverse the United States with a Chinese spy balloon, gather intel from all of our military bases, our food factories, our cities, our critical infrastructure, send it back to China, before shooting it down on February 4."

China's Reaction To The Downing Of Their Balloon | CNN
CNN - China says it “reserves the right” to deal with “similar situations” following the United States’ decision to shoot down its high-altitude balloon. “The US used force to attack our civilian unmanned airship, which is an obvious overreaction. We express solemn protest against this move by the US side,” China’s Defense Ministry spokesperson Tan Kefei said in a statement this week. China “reserves the right to use necessary means to deal with similar situations.”

There's Been More Than Just One Spy Balloon
CBS - The Chinese spy balloon that transited across the U.S. before it was shot down off the coast of South Carolina is reportedly part of a "larger Chinese surveillance balloon program" that has operated for several years and over multiple continents, the Pentagon said this week. "As you highlight, we are aware that there have been four previous balloons that have gone over U.S. territory," Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said during a briefing. "We know that they were looking to surveil strategic sites, to include some of our strategic bases in the continental United States," Ryder said later in the briefing. "And so when you look at the scope of this program and the fact that we know that these balloons have been spotted, and what we now can subsequently assess to be Chinese balloons operating over at least five continents."

The Controversial "Woke" Reboot Of "The Proud Family"
NYPost - Critics are slamming Disney as “woke” and “anti-white” over a Juneteenth episode of "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” that features a song covering the history of slavery in the US and the need for “reparations.” A clip from the episode that’s been making the rounds on social media shows characters singing a tune about how America has “still not atoned for” slavery and systemic racism. “Slaves built this country and we the descendants of slaves in America have earned reparations for their suffering and continue to earn reparations every moment we spend submerged in a systemic prejudice, racism and white supremacy that America was founded with and still has not atoned for,” the characters chanted from a stage.

Hunter Biden Laptop Story Is "Half-Fake"
FOX - Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., slammed the House Oversight Committee's hearing on Twitter's decision to repress the Hunter Biden laptop story in the fall of 2020 and called the story "half-fake." The Democratic congresswoman made it a point to say that the hearing was a waste of time and public resources. "We could be talking about the cost of prescription drugs, abortion rights, civil rights, voting rights, but instead we're talking about Hunter Biden's half fake laptop story. I mean, this is an embarrassment, but I’ll go into it."

Antennas Found Amidst Remains Of Downed Chinese Balloon
NBC - The Chinese balloon that flew above the U.S. for eight days included “multiple antennas” capable of collecting signals intelligence, a senior State Department official said this week, and the balloon maker has proven ties to the Chinese military. According to the official, photos taken by high-altitude U-2 planes confirmed the presence of the equipment, including “multiple antennas … likely capable of collecting and geo-locating communications” and “solar panels large enough to produce the requisite power to operate multiple active intelligence collection sensors.” The equipment was “inconsistent” with that aboard weather balloons.

'High-Altitude Object' Discovered And Downed Over Alaskan Airspace
NBC - The U.S. military this week discovered and shot down a "high-altitude object" flying over Alaskan airspace and Arctic waters, National Security Council official John Kirby confirmed at the White House. At the time, Kirby said the U.S. did not know who owns the object, and he would not call it a balloon, like the one allegedly owned by the Chinese government that the U.S. military shot down earlier in the week. “We’re calling this an object because that’s the best description we have right now,” Kirby told reporters during the White House briefing. “We do not know who owns it, whether it’s state-owned or corporate-owned or privately owned. We just don’t know.”

The Viral Kiss From The State Of The Union Address
FOX - Vice President Kamala Harris was rather tight-lipped on what she thought about a surprising kiss that occurred between her husband Doug Emhoff and First Lady Jill Biden before this week's State of the Union address. Harris seemingly dodged the question when asked about the now viral smooch by Univision correspondent Edwin Pitti. "No, I haven't watched the video, I don't know," Harris said. "But I do know that the first lady and the second gentleman are working arduously with what we are doing with my husband against antisemitism, very important," Harris added while smiling.

3rd Unidentified Object Shot Down Over North America
Reuters - A U.S. F-22 fighter jet shot down an unidentified object upon its discovery in Canada this week. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau publicly announced the shootdown on Twitter and said it took place over the Yukon territory in the country's north. Trudeau added that Canadian forces would recover and analyze the wreckage from the object. President Joe Biden reportedly authorized the U.S. military to work with Canada to take down the high-altitude craft after a call between Biden and Trudeau, the Pentagon said. The White House said Biden and Trudeau agreed to continue close coordination to "defend our airspace."

The Latest On The Biden Classified Documents Scandal
FOX - President Biden offered limited details about his classified documents scandal this week in his first interview since the controversy broke. Sitting down in an interview with PBS NewsHour's Judy Woodruff, Biden attempted to downplay the contents of what was in his possession, telling Woodruff "the best of my knowledge" they were items from "1974" and "stray papers," but added "there may be something else, I don't know." Biden also suggested that his staff may be the ones to blame for not finding the classified document when he first left office in 2017. "But one of the things that happened is that what was not done well is as they packed up my offices to move them, they didn't do the kind of job that should have been done to go thoroughly through every single piece of literature that's there," Biden said. "But I'll just let the investigation, you know, decide what's going on, and we'll see what happens."
