Ryan O'hara returns from the hospital following the gunshot wound he endured after his failed journey along Ruggerman's Trail. He's determined to put his search for answers on hold - until discovering an ominous note in his wife's cult pamphlet. Convinced Melanie had been taken captive by some mysterious "DR with the Red Houseware", Ryan's online search leads him to a familiar face - Edward, the cult member who had drugged him during his previous journey. When Ryan presses Edward for answers, he learns the location and time of the cult's next event. Nothing could have prepared him for their astral projection ceremony - especially not the arrival of Quovlen, the mysterious alien who appears to be the mysterious face behind the cult's nefarious undertakings. When Ryan comes face to face with the cult's only doctor, he begins to question whether he correctly interpreted the ominous note's true meaning.
