APNews - Jeff Bezos is now the second billionaire in over a week to ride his own spacecraft into outer space. The Amazon founder was accompanied by a hand-picked group: his brother, an 18-year-old from the Netherlands and an 82-year-old aviation pioneer from Texas, both of which were respectively the youngest and the oldest to ever venture out into space. “Best day ever!” Bezos said when the capsule touched down on the desert floor in remote West Texas after the 10-minute flight.

Jeff Bezos is being called “tone deaf” for his remarks following his 10-minute flight into space. "I want to thank every Amazon employee and every Amazon customer because you guys paid for all this,” Bezos said. The flight cost $5.5 billion, and Amazon, the company Bezos founded and ran until this year, has a torrid reputation for worker treatment and low pay. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted Bezos on Twitter, and late night TV hosts got their hits in as well.
