Dave Chappelle has just released a new special, “8:46”. The title is meant to reference the length of time where a police officer held his knee on George Floyd’s neck as Floyd pleaded for his life. As mentioned by NYTimes, Chappelle’s performance isn’t much of a comedy set, because, as he notes, there aren’t really any jokes. Instead, the show caters towards a raw accounting of police brutality, punctuated with images of black men who died at the hands of officers, and deftly interweaving his own personal history.

Comedian Dave Chappelle is revealing he has tested positive for COVID-19. He was photographed just two days ago with Tesla boss Elon Musk, and Musk’s girlfriend, singer Grimes. No one in the picture was wearing masks at the event in Austin, Texas. Joe Rogan, who posted the picture, said “the person that gave COVID to Dave [Chappelle] was not Elon’s partner Grimes.” In New York, the state was expected to run out of vaccine shots Friday. There were only 23,000 left as of Friday morning.
