NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, the only full-time African American driver, challenged the sport to "get rid of all Confederate flags" as a step towards better inclusivity among NASCAR drivers and fans alike. By Wednesday night, Wallace was praising NASCAR for complying with his request and banning the Confederate flag from all future races. "I haven't really slept much thinking about this race — everything that's going into it and everything going on in the world. Trying to race to change the world here," as reported by CBS, this was what Wallace had said hours before a Virginia race for which he painted his stock car black, emblazoned with the words "Black Lives Matter" on each side. "It's not that we're saying no other lives matter. We're trying to say that black lives matter, too," Wallace said.

Trump Attacks Bubba Wallace Over Noose Incident
President Trump is going after NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, tweeting Monday asking Wallace when he was going to apologize for what the president called the noose “hoax.” Two weeks ago the FBI concluded that a noose reported to be found hanging in Wallace's garage at Talladega Speedway was a garage door pulley. Trump is also under fire for claiming that 99% of coronavirus cases are harmless, despite evidence from the World Health Organization to the contrary.
