CNN - Barbara Walters, the pioneering TV journalist whose interviewing skills made her one of the most prominent figures in broadcasting, has just passed away at the age of 93, Walters' spokesperson confirmed to CNN. “Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists but for all women,” Walters’ spokesperson Cindi Berger told CNN in a statement. Barbara Walters will surely be missed by many.

Tributes pour for legendary news anchor Barbara Walters. She was pronounced dead on December 30 at the age of 93. Current and former co-hosts of "The View" shared fond memories of the show's creator. Walters’ best friend, New York Post columnist Cindy Adams, says about ten days ago, doctors recognized the end. One room in Walters’ apartment was turned into a hospital room and she was under 24-hour nurse's care. She ceased talking and had no visitors.
